Nothing says summer like a picnic basket packed with a gingham table cloth and lunch to enjoy al fresco.  Seems I’m not the only one who loves a picnic: LA hotspot Tavern just unveiled their Southern-style picnic box with two pieces of juicy buttermilk-fried chicken, succotash, and blackberry crumble ($25/person.)  Here are some ideas for creating your own splendor in the grass, wherever you are.

Tarts

Individual quiche recall a simple lunch from the South of France.  Wrap up in parchment, tie with a bit of twine, and serve room temperature with an arugula salad.  Get the recipes:

Picnic Blankets on Grass

Make a picnic party-worthy by setting up “lounges” with white blankets, pillows, baskets, & gorgeous pink hydrangeas.  So elegant for a wedding reception.

Punch & Strawberries

Iced Tea & Lemonade become party decor when displayed in glass jars with fresh fruit garnish.  Scones & strawberries packed in little baskets make perfect breakfast treats for overnight guests.

Cherries & Flatware

Simple paper bags have loads of rustic charm when filled with vibrant berries to create a sweet and easy party favor.  These darling napkin/flatware packets from French brand Exclusive Choses are practical and eco-friendly.
