Sseko Designs- Girls working in Africa

So excited to share today’s post with you, since it combines two of my favorite things: cute shoes… and a girl with an amazing vision to improve the lives of others! Sseko Designs {“say.co”} partners with an all-girl’s school in Kampala, Uganda and employs recent high school graduates to make these sandals as a way to earn money to continue on to University.  Founder Liz Forkin is passionate about empowering women in developing countries, and she’s created such an artistic way to contribute.

Liz, on her vision for Sseko: “Although consumerism makes many empty promises, responsible and proactive consumerism has the ability to change lives… Every sandal has a story. This story has only just begun, but with your help, it will be a story of hope, success and change.”

Lucky for us, Sseko gives us a very fashionable way to support the cause with their gorgeous handmade sandals, and they just started offering custom designs for brides and bridesmaids.  Check out their site to shop and discover other ways to get involved.

I am sure that they will ship to Europe. I know that they have shipped to Austrilla. Shipping will be a bit more, but you should certainly get a pair. Very well made.
