Ice Cream Couple, Style Me Pretty

Nothing says summer like an ice cream cone, and the iconic Good Humor truck is the latest trend at warm-weather shindigs.  Vintage trucks delight party-goers of all ages… throw in classic flavors and bow-tied servers, and you’ve got serious 1960’s appeal for a retro party.

Prices vary depending on location and number of guests, and for a less expensive and still festive option, hire a local ice cream shop to set up a cart with assorted flavors and mix-ins.  Another DIY option for a casual dinner party? Set up a buffet of toppings and let a “sundae bar” stand in as the dessert course.

A dessert buffet with ice cream cones, old-fashioned floats, and cotton candy recall a scene from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.”  These “waffle cups” provide a drip-free alternative to cones at a cocktail party.  Get the recipe here.

Dear Camille: So I read the other day that if you put mini marsh-mellows in your cone before putting on the ice cream if helps it from melting too fast. Have you experienced this? Love Coley!

    Nicole,
I don’t know that it will prevent it from melting, but it will prevent it from leaking out the bottom.
