Boy Meets Girl

Branches- Ryan KorbanI’ve completely fallen for the masculine/feminine mix in designer Ryan Korban’s luxe interiors.  Using a mostly black & white palette (love!), he combines English country with edgy; seventies glam with minimalism, in a novel way that is both creative and extremely livable.  His just-launched website describes his “fast following with a particular group of creative catalysts downtown (NYC)… drawn to his use of old-world ideals, the revival of a lost romance.”  Quite romantic for a 25-year-old chap, and I’d say his work reveals the spirit of a much-older soul.  I’m especially drawn to the way he layers metal, silk, fur, & shine to create a sense of depth.  A few of my favorite rooms:

I don’t know what it is about this fall and winter season, but it always has me being coming back to rooms with bits of black and I have always loved those leather tufted sofas. I am going to have one of those someday.
