Monochromatic Monday {Blushing Peony}
For as long as I can remember, peonies have been my favorite flower…I fall madly in love all over again every time I lay eyes on all their ruffly, romantic glory. When I passed by one today in the flower market, it was instant inspiration to design a springtime fete around a profusion of peonies. The season offers many excuses for girly-ness (bridal showers, birthday parties, & bachelorettes) but really- who needs an excuse to celebrate such a symbol of beauty? A towering cake echoes ruffly petals; a dreamy dress seems to float on layers of tulle; & a canopy of lanterns illuminates in the gradient shades of a blushing bloom. An added bonus? These flowers are more than eye candy: their amazing fragrance cast a magical spell over an entire affair.
