After last week’s display of frilly pink femininity, I’ve been craving a look with a bit more earthy appeal…plus, this Austin heat is feeling quite desert-like (and turning my usually-lush backyard into the Sahara!) Today’s board is inspired by the natural beauty of Baja, where lush tropical plants and azure waters meet the mountainous deserts. The color palette is an organic blend of natural woods, verdant green & beige sand. Surprise guests with a dinner serenaded by mariachi dressed in full regalia; a lounge-y mix of wood benches & rattan floor cushions keep things relaxed & encourage mingling; and tiny terra cotta pots of succulents are chic table decor that guests can tote home as party favors. It’s the fourteenth of July, and the French are celebrating a national holiday: the day that marks the storming of the Bastille prison and the beginning of the French revolution. Exciting, non? We’ll be marking the day with a few more fun tidbits from my trip to Paris and some culinary inspiration I brought back to the States. The last 365 days have been a rainbow of brilliant colors, new places, & more happiness than I could have ever imagined, because I’ve been with you, my soulmate. XO

It’s a road-trip weekend, traveling to Dallas for a bit of work and then some much-needed relaxation at my parent’s house. Things have been nonstop busy these past couple of weeks, and I’m beyond excited to savor a day off. Manis with my mom, a home-cooked meal, & maybe even sneak in a movie. Then, A & I head back to Austin for a crazy week getting ready for Lifework’s annual White Party. Happy May Day, my dears! Today is a bit hectic due to tying up loose ends from a week full of parties & client work, combined with packing for tomorrow’s sojourn to Napa Valley. I couldn’t be more excited, but I haven’t had time to even think about what to pack. Any advice would be welcome! It’s been a fun & busy week, heading into an even more jam-packed weekend! I’ll kick it off on the right foot by enjoying breakfast & a morning workout with my honey…then it’s time to hit the ground running! Setup for a client’s party on Saturday, then a visit from my parents and a little late-night live music. Sunday we’re headed to a friend’s house for a dinner party, complete with a lesson in macrobiotic cooking! Should be loads of fun, and I’m sure that Monday will arrive way to fast.
